Risk Manager
The Commercial Risk Manager is responsible for the risk management process of a major multi-contract offshore wind project from procurement phase through construction to commercial operation. The Commercial Risk Manager participates in the development of risk management processes and is in charge of implementing those processes within the project.
The Commercial Risk Manager works closely together with Commercial Manager, Project
Managers, Project Planners, Quantity Surveyors and Project Engineers.
Principal Accountabilities
The Commercial Risk Manager is responsible for the following key activities:-
Facilitating the risk management process of a major multi-contract offshore wind
project from procurement phase through construction to commercial operation. This
includes facilitation of risk workshops on package and project level as well as
commercial risk analysis, valuation and modelling
Management and administration of project risk register. Ensuring that all risk response plans are executed
Managing and facilitating risk and scenario modelling to determine project confidence
data as required
Collating, integrating, evaluating and reporting project risks (commercial, technical,
political, financial, HSE, etc).
Working together with centrally coordinated risk management functions to ensure that
project complies with risk management directives and that lessons learnt and best
practices are shared across projects
Enhancement and execution of the Project Risk Management Plan
Knowledge & Skills
Essential
Risk management/ controlling experience ideally within major project environment
Ability to develop and implement risk management strategies within large construction project environment with multiple stakeholders, thereby promoting a risk management culture
Good understanding of risk valuation, project insurances and risk transfer
Excellent analytical skills and highly proficient with MS Excel
Excellent communication capabilities with the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing in English
Highly motivated with the ability to work independently
Degree qualified in risk management or an economic, business or engineering discipline
Desirable
Good understanding of project insurances and risk transfer
Proficient with a project planning tool such as Primavera or MS Project
Extended financial modelling skills
Claims management experience and proficiency in legal text analysis/ interpretation
Cost management / quantity surveyor experience or qualifications
Proficient with a specialist risk management software, such as Active Risk Manager, @Risk or Pertmaster, to undertake quantitative risk modelling and Monte Carlo simulations
