Process Engineer - Electromechanical
Our client, based nr Witney, Oxfordshire has an exciting opportunity for somebody with a qualification in Mechancal Engineering and a varied background in Electronics, R&D, Manufacturing, Processes, Low Volume Production etc and experience of working within one of the following; Magnetics, Cryogenics, Automotive, Marine or Aerospace, to work as an Electromechanical Process/Test Engineer to support the manufacture of cryostats for superconducting magnets used for MRI.
The Role:
The job holder will be responsible for the designated manufacturing processes and products in the TESTING Stream to ensure that the product meets customer requirements.
The job holder is responsible for a designated part of the stream production process.
Working Partners/Contacts
The job holder reports to the Process Manager and interfaces with the key resources within the stream - Process Manager, Manufacturing Manager, Team Leaders, Line Support Engineers, Planning & Materials and QA - as well as Engineering, Project Managers, Supply Chain, and the other Process Engineers.
Tasks & Responsibilities
* To ensure KPIs meet targets
* To take responsibility for the manufacturing Processes within their area
* To manage continuous improvement of performance of the process
* To manage changes to the processes to support stream and business requirements
* To support resolution of technical issues
* To work with suppliers as required to support stream process requirements
Education
* Minimum of HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering
Experience
* Test Knowledge and Cryogenic Knowledge Is highly desirable.
* Relevant Electromechanical experience and knowledge; electrical / electronic / fundamental physics from a manufacturing environment
* Experience of Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma (desirable)
* Mechanical Assemblies experience
* Experience of SAP, Kitting, BOM's,
* Experience of working on Projects / planning / reporting is desirable.
* You must also be able to demonstrate extra ordinary initiative and be highly motivated.
Additional Information
* The job holder will normally work days, but will be expected to work at times outside dayshift to ensure contact with all the shifts
