Sales Engineer
We specialise in providing bespoke wireless solutions, utilising all available and emerging wireless technologies.
Responsibilities:
Reporting directly to the Business Development Director, the role is to identify new leads, markets and products.
Acting with a consultative sales approach, it is essential that candidates have the proven skill sets to progress prospects through to specification, proposal and quote stages, independently but under the guidance of the Business Development Director.
On appointment, the selected candidate will be expected to generate their own new customer base, rather than developing the ones that already exist. A willingness to bring any accounts into the company is therefore a distinct advantage.
The company is located near Reading but sales territory would initially be the whole of the UK with travel to customer’s sites, possibly involving overnight stays. Considering the geographical spread of the customer base, the right candidate would be considered if not resident in the South East.
Qualification and Experience required:
Selection criteria will place experience and a proven record above qualifications, however, given the technical skill sets required, a recognised Engineering qualification will support claimed experience.
• A proven history over a number of years in a technical sales capacity
• Good computer literacy and documentation skills are needed.
• HNC Level, 5 years + in a similar role
A knowledge and experience of contractual processes is expected as a part of closing sales by agreeing terms and conditions.
A proven knowledge of wireless technology in a radio communications environment is essential but with a history of sales activity.
An ideal candidate would be an Engineer who has been employed in a sales role for a number of years.
To fulfil the requirement of turning initial enquiries into sales orders, an ability to originate Requirement Specifications and translate those into working system designs is expected.
Key Characteristics of Individual

• Must be able to work on own, unsupervised and produce results.
• Good timekeeping and attendance
• Enthusiastic and ambitious
• Empathic, honest and dependable
• Presentable, professional and realistic
