At Sense the people we support are individuals and they are all treated as such, so we have a fantastic position available in the Radstock area, for a Waking nights Children's Support Worker. This is a unique role supporting one child at their home, working alongside the family. Sense are offering you £11.29 per hour. This is a permanent role, working anywhere from 9 hours per week, this could be 1 - 5 shifts a week depending on your availability / suitability.

You don’t need to have an existing qualifications within formal care, or have worked with children before, as you will receive a full induction and training into working with children with multisensory impairments and disabilities. You may have cared for a family member in the past, and felt the reward? Or be a genuinely caring person looking to help positively impact a Childs life?

You will support a child with multi sensory impairment and complex needs. Working alongside a manager and a deputy and put into practice a plan developed by the family, therapists and Sense. The individual you will be supporting loves music and to sing, and enjoys days out within the community. You will be there to create a comforting, peaceful environment to encourage sleep after these adventurous days. The individual lives in the beautiful countryside of Radstock, it may be beneficial to have a full UK drivers licence for accessibility, but this is not essential.

For a waking nights support worker the hours are 10 pm - 7am, There is also potential for additional hours during the school holidays, you may even be studying yourself and only be looking to pick up work during your school holidays? Waking Nights Childrens Support Worker, Radstock, Desired Experience:

A full manual UK license would be beneficial but not essential, as the individual has access to their own vehicle.
Knowledge of or qualification in British Sign Language or similar is beneficial ( BSL / Makaton etc.)
Have experience in caring for people with disabilities – No need for qualifications, we’re happy to work with you to help you become an excellent support worker.
Knowledge of multi sensory impairments / learning difficullties is beneficial.
